How to Prepare Poultry Faming

Preparation of poultry farming.

Before raising chickens you should have good ventilation pens,

Do not cover the shed and cover it to prevent fleas from breeding in the shed, It should be light, 1 square meter should keep 15 chicks and 8 to 9 adult hens to 12 hens. Have adequate feeding and water containers.

On average 100 chickens use 4 to 5 food containers and 4 water containers.

Look at the type of chicken you are raising, Its history and its characteristics such as mating or eating eggs.

Prepare the nesting area (nests), the size of the nest is 35 by 35 centimetres for one hen.

Consider the ratio of roosters to hens where 6 to 12 heifers should have one rooster, with more roosters to stay fighting rather than climbing thus reducing egg production.

Do not let a crippled rooster or a crippled chicken be present in your cage as he cannot bark or climb. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the huts, dirt in the huts is a source of disease.

On average a laying hen lays 4 eggs a week. Concentrate on vaccinations and proper nutrition. Find a veterinarian near your herd to guide you on animal husbandry and care for your chickens on vaccination and treatment and advice.

Poultry Farming is highly dependent on the construction of stable poultry housing because it is one of the most basic elements in poultry farming whether it is indigenous poultry farming or even traditional poultry farming construction of a unique building is very important. However, not every construction method is suitable, so the construction must take into account the actual needs so that the breeding can produce the best results expected by the breeder.

Key elements in poultry farming and the construction of a poultry house.

Always keep fresh air. Always dry. It should be adequate. It should be cheap but durable.

Air and light in a chicken house.

Air is essential for every creature, so a hen house must be well ventilated and emitted and able to absorb enough light.

1. In short, the pavilion windows must be large and large enough to allow fresh air to release pollutants.

2. these windows should be at least 1 meter from the ground so that air can pass over the chicken heads.

3. Fresh air is not wind, so try to prevent strong winds from entering the chicken house to prevent the chickens from contracting the flu and pneumonia and also the chicks may die from the cold.

4 . Build your shelter from strong winds and plant trees around the chicken building to slow down the wind and provide shade against the hot sun and heat.

DRY AND CLEANLINESS IN THE CHICKEN HOUSE.

Since chickens are not waterfowl like ducks it is prudent to ensure that their habitat is not humid and to ensure this, make sure ;

1. A chicken house should be built on a raised surface to prevent rainwater from entering.

2. Build a chicken house to sleep on by placing one meter high and laying trees on it so that they can sleep at night, rather than lying on the ground or the floor.

3. The dryness of the house is especially important for chicks and laying hens. Inside a damp hut, the eggs are very dirty and even sometimes rot easily and your efforts will be in vain.

4. The floor of the pavilion is well made of concrete but due to lack of funds the floor can be made of concrete or hard clay and or sand which will be covered with the remains of rice and wood waste.

 5. To avoid humidity it is advisable that the area/place outside the building should be raised and well ventilated.

6. The roof of the pavilion should be strong to prevent rainwater from entering, especially during the rainy season.  The floor of the pavilion should be above the outside level.

The roof can be covered with scraps of tin, boxes and, if that is not possible, use suitable grass for roofing in the area.

OPPORTUNITY TO WORK IN A CHICKEN BUILDING.

The chicken house should not have too many columns or planks inside to make the chicken keeper unable to do his job.  The situation will make him/her spend a lot of time around the pillars, especially when picking eggs or cleaning.

POULTRY EQUIPMENT EQUIPMENT.

When you want to build a poultry farm first of all prepare the required equipment.  Items such as trees or grass, nets or poles, nails or ropes are important to prepare in advance.  Second, you must have a complete plan/map of the pavilion.

SIMPLE CHICKEN BUILDING:

Raised chickens will eventually have to cover the cost of building sheds and food.  If the cost is too high it may make the poultry business unprofitable at all which will make the breeder feel that farming is not important to him. But if you build your pavilion using easily accessible materials you will add even more benefits as you have reduced project operating costs.

The chicken house should be 15 to 22 meters in area ie 3 to 4.5 meters wide by 5 meters high.  This shed can take care of 100 adult chickens at a time.
