Accademic achievement techniques

IDENTIFY THE METHODS OF SUCCESS IN YOUR STUDIES.

There are many techniques you can use to succeed in your studies. Here I mean reading and understanding and then passing your exams.

As a student, you must realize there is a way to understand what you are reading as well there is a way to read the question and understand it in the examination room. Reading and understanding the question can be of three types:

One, you go into the examination room already knowing so much that if you find a question and read it you already know it,

Two, read the question for the first time and understand it while in the examination room,

Thirdly understand the question when you are ready to leave the examination room. It has happened to many people that he or she is coming out of the exam and he or she says oooh but the question needed this, but the question meant this, then he or she has already left the examination room.

Now, all in all, I am going to give you the techniques you will use to pass your exams. These techniques include efforts to understand your subjects, test-taking techniques and techniques to be strong in your studies (competency). Those methods are As follows.

  • Pray for your studies. In your studies put God first, this will give you protection, guidance and calm conditions.

  • Love your lessons. If you love your studies you will give them your time and effort and note that you cannot love your studies if you don't give them your time.

  •  When you learn, have a watch, this will help you to keep up with the flow of the day's events and thus prepare your mind and psychology to face it rightly.

  •  Sit in a quiet place as you read. As you read, you will want to be quiet and quiet, for example, in the classroom, under a shady tree.

  • Have all the materials you read. If you are studying math then have important textbooks for that subject at your Education level.

  • Have a schedule and do it diligently and honestly. Many fail their studies by having a bad schedule or even having a good schedule that they do not follow. So focus on your schedule.

  • Choose the right reading time that you know you will understand best, for example, you can decide whether it is early in the morning, afternoon, evening or night. Choose to read when the mind is calm.

  • Avoid illegal groups, To be successful in your studies, avoid persuasive groups to exclude you and keep you away from your studies.

  •  Be more diligent, push yourself, avoid negligence, and do not promote fatigue and insomnia while reading.

  • Forget and avoid remembering bad things that happened, for example, bad results, illness, family problems, lack of fees and so on.

  • Have time to rest, when you are tired and rested So that the mind may find new strength.

  •  Exercise, exercise will calm your body and remove emotions, negative emotions and also give the mind a fresh start.

  • Find out why you failed? This will help you identify the cause of your failure and thus avoid recurrence.

  •  Respect your teachers, your parents and your guardians. Also accept warnings, corrections and corrections.

  • Choose to associate with your classmates who are doing well. This will help you to imitate and

  • follow their techniques and thus you will succeed.

  • Do not discriminate between sessions. Some students fail by preferring one subject and ignoring another subject. Realize that Succeeding in your Education requires you to be balanced in all subjects.

  • Don't enjoy the failures of your peers, enjoying the failures of your peers will make you selfish and you will lack cooperation and so you will remain as you are without learning new things from your peers.

  • Instruct your classmates. it will make you increase your awareness.

  • Avoid falling asleep while reading, when you are tired, rest and exercise to eliminate physical weakness.

  • Prefer to practice by answering all the questions in the lesson and topic.

  • If you are in a test, read the question and read it again and again. do not rush to finish the test.

  • Avoid the emotions of closing a school or college. Most students when they enter the exams have a lot of emotions to go home or be on vacation so it reduces calm and concentration while they are in the exam room. Dear reader these are some of the things to focus on in your studies. You can comment and share with your friends so they can improve their performance.

READ THE DO'S AND DON'T'S PREPARING FOR THE EXAMINATION

We’ve all been there. You look at the calendar and see your first exam date looming. You think about how much revision time your teachers seem to mention every few minutes in class. All the different subjects, modules and topics that could be there when you open your exam document…

You don’t have to work yourself into a pre-exam frenzy. We’ve put together some study and exam dos and don’ts, so you have the tools ready to ace those exams.

Do – Have a realistic revision schedule – planning your study will allow you to prepare and cover everything you might need to know. Even if you have a shorter study window than you thought, planning that time is better than not planning at all.

Do – Break the material for each subject into manageable chunks. If you have a lot of different subjects or module material, mix them up so that you won’t be studying the same thing all day.

Try the Pomodoro 25:10 technique;  set a timer and study for 25 minutes, and then get up and take a ten-minute break – have a drink and get out of the room you’re in. Breaking up your study time will make you more productive.

Don’t – Dwell too long on anxious thoughts – channel those thoughts into helpful questions. Question: why am I feeling anxious? Answer: I have created a study plan that covers everything I need and now I just need to follow it to succeed.

Do – Pause and look over what you have learnt after you have been studying the material for a while. Can you explain it to someone else? Which bits are you struggling to remember or understand?

Do – Use a study playlist. Silence isn’t always the best option. Spotify and YouTube have many playlists of meditative, soundtrack and classical music so you can find something that works for you.

Don’t – Neglect yourself. Stop to take in some fresh air and physical activity. Eat well and don’t feel guilty rewarding yourself.

Do – Look over past exam papers or read examples of answers. This will help you to understand how questions will be structured and how to form your answers.

Do – Keep sentences shorter and to the point. Examiners will have set criteria to judge your work against.

Don’t – Stay up all night. Sleep is important for your brain to store the information you have learnt from that day. You can look over your notes before sleep.

Be good to yourself.

Do – Make infographics and use Smart study apps. Relate the material to your life. Linking information can help you to retain it for longer. Use mnemonic devices to remember key information.

Do – Ask for help, even if it’s just a friend testing your knowledge or explaining a topic to them.

Don’t – Study on your bed – get out of your bedroom completely if you can.

Do – read the examiner’s reports, they publish a document each year detailing what they want to see and what not to do.

Do – You may have had to put social events, clubs, or sports activities on pause while you focus yourself. But you should still make time to enjoy yourself, put aside some time to watch a movie or go for a run.

Don’t – leave things to the last minute, small bursts of study over time will make it easier to remember rather than cramming the night before.

Exam day expectations.

Do – Prepare properly, have a good breakfast. If you are taking the exam in person, bring water with you, if you are doing your exam from home make sure you put water within reach.

Do – Have everything that you need to take with you, plan your time well so that you don’t forget something important.

Do – read the instructions that you are given carefully. Changes to exam procedures mean that normal instructions that you may be used to could be different.

Don’t – Forget to plan your time for each question, during the exam if you become overwhelmed or lose track of time. It’s beneficial to know how much time you should dedicate to each part of your exam. When you finish with time to spare you can then go over your answer and add to it.

Do – Be calm and kind to yourself. It is an important time for you, but you should be able to enjoy this time and be proud of how far you’ve come.
